What to Expect

A Reiki treatment will normally last about an hour to an hour and a half. Before commencing the Reiki treatment you will be asked to go through a consultation form of your personal details, lifestyle, medication and medical history. The Reiki treatments carried out need not involve the removal of clothes, as Reiki channels through to the person’s energy field with or without obstruction.

A Reiki session may sometimes bring up emotions or memories of experiences from your past, some of which you may have forgotten about. This is part of the Reiki healing process and is there to allow you to release and grow. We are only reminded of these feelings and events because we are strong enough and ready to face them again. If at any time during the treatment, you wish to express your emotions, please feel free to do so.

Mostly people fall asleep in a Reiki treatment, or feel the effects a couple of days later when things start to change and fall into place. During this time, we strongly suggest to increase your intake of water, as it will help naturally flush out the toxins that have been stirred in your body and ease their release.

Many people react differently to their first treatment and it is difficult to tell the client exactly what to expect.  For the first couple of days after a treatment, a person may or may not experience some of the following symptoms as the body detoxifies:  Moodiness, extreme tiredness or energy, feeling hot or cold,
diarrhea, frequent urination, tingling and/or a heightened sense of peace.  These are all due to the energy shifting throughout the body, triggering the natural healing processes.

Health begins with you, the client. Take care of yourself and your body will respond.  Eating healthy, reduce your caffeine and/or nicotine intake, increase your rest time, take a walk or listen to some soothing music! These are just a few suggestions for you to consider. Be creative and do the things that you love.
